What season are you in? // Love Letter, May 2024

What season are you in? // Love Letter, May 2024

Happy first week of May to you! We are finally enjoying the gift of all the rain we experienced through Winter and Spring. The canyon is full of life with newly emerged greens and fresh air.

"Season" is such an interesting concept. We often use the word to refer to the ever-changing weather and natural elements in the cyclical rhythm around us. I also feel the seasonal presence and shifts in my day-to-day life within the inner world and my relationship with people around me. For example, we are in a phase of deep trust with our kids. They are older now (almost 11 and 14!!!), and I am noticing that compared to previous chapters of our relationship, they are ready to make more of their own decisions.

A.C. is in the season of fulfilling intentions with daily drawings on JIYU Monthly, even though it can sometimes be about playing catch-ups. Trina's interview with Anilia Hornsby takes us to Anilia's journey of her personal writing through her different life phases.

BK is also going through a season. As I mentioned in the last love letter, we are pausing our Truly Yours service for this Summer. Thank you to everyone who placed an order with us. We will work diligently to complete all the current projects by the end of June. We also look forward to reopening the service in the Fall of 2024!

While we briefly close the door to Truly Yours, we are opening a new door for MOSS Season #2, which starts today. We hope you can join us for a gentle experience of embracing the stillness while capturing the world around you.

When I imagine our experiences as seasons, I can flow with them. After all, we don't try to stop the natural rhythm of our beloved trees, mountains, and oceans. Instead, we acknowledge that changes are a bigger force than what we can manipulate, control, or manage. We let the magnificence of each season unfold and become a part of it. Yet the beauty comes with the grief when we transition from one season to another. I love that our kids are becoming more independent, and I feel sentimental about those toddler days when they were full of cuddles and hugs.

All feelings are okay to sit with, embrace, and surrender to, knowing they will shift again.
